• Ensure the safety of users at all times;
• Teach an activity program;
• Ensure the safety of users at all times within the pool area and its surroundings;
• Enforce the pool regulations;
• Maintain discipline;
• Assist in the organization and facilitation of activities at the pool;
• Collaborate on maintenance tasks;
• Ensure that equipment and the site are kept in good condition;
• Protect the city's movable property and that of the public;
• Ensure that the various required reports are completed;
• Submit a report to the immediate supervisor regarding any anomalies observed;
• Provide first aid and execute received directives in case of serious injuries;
• Call the police in cases of vandalism, theft, and incidents that warrant it;
• The tasks and responsibilities listed above do not constitute an exhaustive and limiting statement of the tasks to be performed by the holder of this position.

• Have completed the following valid certificate: National Lifeguard issued by the Lifesaving Society

AND

• Depending on the course taught, one or more of the following certificates:
  • Qualified swimming instructor (Lifesaving Society) and/or;
  • Qualified Lifeguard Instructor + Lifeguard Instructor and/or;
  • Qualified National Lifeguard Instructor.
